What you need:

  • 1 Tb  Arrowroot powder or Organic Corn Starch
  • 2 tsp*  Cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp*  Cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 tsp*  Beet powder

Start with 1 T of the arrowroot or cornstarch powder, then mix in small amounts of the other ingredients depending on whether you have more pink or brown tones to your skin.

*Adjust to match your own skin tone.

What you need:

  • 1 Tb  Arrowroot powder or Organic Corn Starch
  • Beet root powder

Directions:   Depending on how bring pink you want your blush will depend on how much beet root powder you use.  Try 2 part beet root powder to 1 part cornstarch.  To add more depth, add a little cocoa powder.  Mix in a small bowl and make sure to break apart any clumps.  Adjust color to your liking.

To use:  dip your blush brush in the powder, tapping off any extra and apply.

Black Friday: Less Stress, More Savings!

The day after Thanksgiving, some people brave the cold and dark in the wee hours of the morning to wait in line for hours and elbow their way through crowds of crazed shoppers.

Not at Healthy Habitz though.  We hope our customers can have a pleasant shopping experience and STILL save a bunch on some of their favorite health products and gifts.

So, we'll continue last year's approach, which really allowed for a good flow without too long lines or wait times.

Black Friday is Nov. 24 this year.

How do we love bulk foods?  Let us count the ways:

love bulk button.png
  •  Organic bulk foods on average cost 89% less than their packaged counterparts. Bulk foods also prevent a significant amount of packaging from entering landfills.
  • Bulk goods require less overall transportation to deliver to consumers. Bulk foods do not require the packaging components that must be produced and transported prior to being filled. And the transportation of bulk product to retailers is efficient because it can be packed more densely on a truck.
  • The manufacture of paper and cardboard pulls trees from our forests, dumps contaminated water into our streams and uses enormous amounts of energy resulting in egregious levels of CO2 emissions pumped into our atmosphere.
  •  Food packaging may limit a consumer’s ability to buy in quantities desired which can result in food surplus and ultimately waste.
  • Although most natural food companies sell their food products in recyclable packaging, there are still some food companies that use non-recyclable materials. And some consumers choose not to recycle which creates additional burden in our country’s landfills.
  • Packaging often limits a consumer’s ability to actually see the product they are buying.
